The Woman In Black

We went to see The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theater a couple of weeks back. It's the first play I've been to see since I left school!

The play is about a lawyer who's sent up north to sort out some old woman's estate. Believe it or not, the weather is grim and the people are a bit strange. Not only that, but it's haunted! I wont reveal too much more about the plot because I don't want to ruin it.

I wasn't really expecting to think much of it, especially since there were no falling chandeliers, scantly clad dancing girls, explosions or helicopters. What can I say, it's surprising what 2 guys can do with 3 props. As a big fan of big budget cinema I was quite surprised (and pleased) to find that I still have enough imagination to get completely captivated by something so simple. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that I preferred it to the cinema.

All in all, it was very (very) good. Definitely worth the ticket price.

We enjoyed it so much that we're going again this week to the National Theater to see Once in a Lifetime. I'll let you know what I think.

Free to a good home...

One fine HP Deskjet 630c, free to a good home.

It still works a treat but both ink cartridges are empty. If you want it you'll have to come and pick it up in the next week. Drop me a mail, call or comment if you want it.

Next weekend it's going on the Bow Quarter notice board and I suspect it wont be there very long.

Switched to Blogger

You might have noticed (but probably not) that my blog looks a little different. That's because I've switched over from iWeb to Blogger.

So, what do I think? I like it. The best features are:

  • It's really customisable, this page looks just like the rest of my site, that's because blogger lets you use your own template
  • It gives you an Atom feed and blog comments without any extra effort
  • Great web based interface
  • And last but not least, FTP support. It'll magically upload to your own FTP server when you change something

So overall, iWeb has a much better UI but Blogger has more features; I'm going to stick with Blogger.
